Do your best and forget the rest.

More writing than usual in this post! "Do your best and forget the rest." That's the motto I've been living by the past couple of weeks all thanks to my new friend Tony Horton and his P90X workout. Alex and I decided to take a shot at this extreme home workout program to get in better shape. It involves a variety of exercises. Pull ups, push ups, lunges, cardio, lifting, abs, kick boxing, yoga, and much much more. It covers everything. And every day is different.

Yes, I had days where I couldn't move. Literally, it hurt to type. And yes, I thought the people on the video were insane for not taking as many breaks as I was. Then I realized it was only day 2 of the 90 days, and in time I would be able to keep up with the 349 ab reps... (yeah right!!!). But Tony reminds me to "Do your best, and forget the rest." And that's why I haven't regretted it one bit. Because I know in time, if I do my best now rather than giving up too soon, I'll have a greater outcome in the end.

Alex and I are on day 16. 74 more days to go. It's been invigorating. My energy has increased, my mind is clear, and I feel more driven than ever. I'm even applying "Do your best, and forget the rest" to my life outside of the extreme home workout. I always tend to strive for perfection. While it's a good quality to have, it's also my flaw. I find it usually holds me back, because it takes me longer to get there. I'm my biggest critique and set my standards way too high, and often feel defeated if I don't reach that point of perfection. I have this list of goals for both my personal life and business, and I'm coming to the realization that I need to just DO MY BEST and forget the rest. 2011 is my year to get past my flaw. Here's to doing YOUR best!

KIARA'S SWEET 15th BIRTHDAY | worcester, massachusetts

Kiara celebrated her 15th birthday this past November. You may remember her from her lifestyle session back in September.. if not, check it out here! KIARA. I had the pleasure of photographing her Quinceanera. It was my first time ever attending one, and I cannot tell you enough that it was beyond amazing. Her and her friends were quite the characters and we went around town before the big bash. The party was held at Club Maxine in Worcester, Massachusetts. The place was filled with decorations, and looked stunning. There was non-stop entertainment with singing and breaking, and I don't think anyone left the dance floor. Such a fun evening! Below are some of my favorites :)

SNOW DAY | huntsville, alabama photographer

Growing up in Ohio I got used to the snow days and snow delays. A bittersweet consequence of my move to the south meant a possible winter without a heavy snowfall... Having gone home for the holidays, I missed Huntsville's white Christmas, but on Monday the snow came. It was recorded as the third biggest snowfall at 8.9 inches.

2010

2010. What an amazing year it was. I just want to say thank you to my family and friends, and all who follow, for the support. An especially HUGE thanks to Carmen and the Blink of an Eye Photography team for building my confidence and my portfolio. I wouldn't be where I am today without everyone who has helped me along the way. And to my clients (and future clients!), thank you for the opportunity to capture your memories. It is truly an honor. As most of you know, this year was full of transitions. The move from Dayton to Cincinnati and finally to Huntsville, AL, along with all of the traveling, had me bouncing around everywhere! I can finally say I feel settled here in the south. I am so excited for what is to come in 2011. Below is the year 2010 "in review." It was so fun going through these photos and thinking of where I started to where I am now. It reminded me of how much I simply love what I do! THANK YOU AGAIN!
