When I first received this inquiry, I knew it was going to be special. Jessie, Heather's cousin, contacted me and asked if she could gift a session to her cousin who was affected by last April's tornadoes. When Heather contacted me she mentioned she would love to capture their house they rebuilt, their yard, trees, landscape -- the familiar surroundings of their home. On the day of the tornadoes last year I was out of town, in a hospital room, standing next to my sister while she delivered her first baby. I was oblivious to the devastation that was occurring. To this day, I cannot wrap my head around what it must of been like. To be asked by Heather to document her family simply enjoying each others company, playing in the backyard, visiting the horses across the street, I was honored. Thank you Heather, Ray, Slade and Evelynn for welcoming me into your home. It was a pleasure meeting you! Below are a few of my favorites :) There was lots of running around!
They transformed a fallen tree and its remaining stump into a "playground"!
