A girls' day out!  Meet Kelly and her girlfriends!  After winning the "Best of 2011" contest, Kelly had the idea to share her complimentary lifestyle session with her girls!  I was so excited for this idea!  She explained that moms are always behind the camera, chasing their kids and don't often get too much "me" time.  They decided to make a day of it by getting dressed up, sharing stories over a bottle of wine and treating themselves to dinner, while the kiddos were home with dad!  Below are a few of my favorites!

You may remember Sarah Katherine from last November when we met up for her high school senior session!  It was a bitter cold Fall day on Monte Sano and SK was a trooper.  When her mom won a complimentary mini session from the "Best of 2011" contest hosted in the beginning of this year, we decided to meet up for a Spring session for Sarah Katherine!  This time we headed to Burritt on the Mountain and it was MUCH warmer for SK!  This was my first time exploring at the Burritt and I'm sure it won't be my last!  I'm in love with Springtime!  Below are a few of my favorites :)

WELCOME "BABY SHELL" | hunstville, al photographer

This past Monday I received an unexpected call. A fellow photographer, the lovely Jan of Green Tree Photography, called and asked if I could fill in for her to photograph one of her good friend's while she gave birth to her first child. Without hesitation I said yes. It is such a humbling experience sharing in one of the most precious moments of life.. A mom giving birth to her first child. It's a day filled with all kinds of emotion. Not only did I witness the experience, I documented as the day unfolded. Casey and Hunter welcomed me with open arms into their delivery room. I may have started off as a stranger, but I soon felt a part of their family. Casey and Hunter decided not to find out what they were having, so they've been calling their baby-to-be, "Baby Shell." It was priceless and I'm so honored to have been apart of the experience.

Welcome to the world, Amelia Ruth! She was born at 3:56 p.m.


She weighed 8lbs and was 21 inches long.


You were amazing Casey!
